About

I'm Jack Wingate, a First-Class Graphic Design graduate from the University of Huddersfield (2025), based in West Yorkshire. I'm a designer first — my work spans brand, UI/UX, and product design, with a particular interest in transport, wayfinding, and realism-led interfaces that feel intuitive rather than abstract.

At university I led large self-initiated projects from research through to delivery, including a national Great British Railways brand and app concept, a 10,000-word dissertation on the lack of realism in modern UI with an interactive outcome, and WEBTEXT — a teletext-inspired digital service. Outside of coursework I've designed and shipped Rail Statistics, a self-initiated iOS and Android app, from Figma prototypes to public release.

I work primarily in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. When something needs to exist as a real app or website, I use AI-assisted workflows to build from my own designs and specs — keeping full ownership of the visual direction and UX. Whether it's campaign graphics, motion, environmental design, or mobile product work, I care about hierarchy, accessibility, and follow-through.
